Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate 2 Ro-pax vessels in Majuli on November 9. The service will minimize the travel distance between Majuli and Nimati Ghat, Jorhat.
Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma would be present at Majuli for the event.
The Assam government has taken the initiative to improve inland water connectivity in the state.
The Ro-Pax vessels have a carrying capacity of 10 to 15 vehicles and around 200 passengers.
