The man Arvind Singh who made derogatory remark on Assamese language has finally been arrested.
Few days earlier a heated incident took place when a man named Arvind Singh had allegedly made insulting remark on the language Assamese. The audio recording of this remark went viral on social media. Soon after, several indigenous organizations in Tinisukia objected to Singh’s remarks and demanded legal action against him.
“Such derogatory and communal remarks against Assamese language is an insult of the entire Assamese community and can endanger the peaceful environment,” an FIR filed by Brihottar Asomiya Yuba Manch stated.
The audio recording that went viral on social media created a heated tension and that led to an uproar amongst the indigenous communities in Tinisukia.
A number of complaints were later lodged against Singh by several organizations at Tinsukia and soon after the complaints registered the culprit has finally surrendered to the poilice.
