A huge fire broke out at Pandu Bazar, Guwahati on Saturday at around 12 at night.
According to sources, 14 shops were ravaged due to the massive inferno and among them, 9 were completely damaged.
About 15 firefighters came to control the blaze, however, the congested alleys of the market became a big hurdle for the firefighters to extinguish the blazing inferno.
Fire authorities are still accessing the cause of the fire and are also executing a loss assessment.
Pandu Bazar is one of the oldest markets in Guwahati and is popular for its reasonable pricing, however, the midnight mess has left heavy losses to people associated with the business.
