Finance Minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday stated that Congress MLA Sherman Ali Ahmed will be sent to jail for his contentious remark related to the recent Miya Museum controversy.
The Congress MLA stated that ‘Lungis’ will be kept at the embodiment of Assamese culture and heritage, Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakhetra.
Reacting to the statement, the Education Minister said that Sherman will be sent to jail after elections if the MLA doesn’t apologize for the insulting remark against Assamese culture.
The minister further stated that the BJP party is not against Assamese Muslims and will always take proper measures to preserve the culture and heritage of Assamese Muslims.
The Minister also warned that distortion of Assamese culture will not be accepted and stern actions will be taken and breaking of Assamese culture and heritage is not acceptable.
