On the early morning of October 18, a police team under the supervision of Morigaon Superintendent of Police (SP) along with Deputy SP Morigaon conducted a raid.
The team was also aided by a staff of Jagiroad Police Station (PS) and they were successful in seizing:
- 88 containers of suspected Heroin.
- A large number of stolen articles from temples.
- Stolen pump-set, copper, and aluminum wires, suspected to be stolen from premises of Jagiroad paper mill.
All these items were recovered from the house of Abul Kasem (31) and his wife Fatema Begum. Abul is the son of Abdul Malek of Silbhanga under Jagiroad PS.
Abul and his wife Fatema were both drug dealers and were arrested under the sections of Narcotic Drugs & Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, and IPC (with regards to stolen items).
Further investigations are going on.
