Six NLFB (National Liberation front of Bodoland) cadres have surrendered in Sonitpur on Wednesday. After a successful encounter of the Assam Police where two NLFB militants were killed now another success has been gained by the Assam police.
It is mentioned that A group of about 12 militants was hiding in Chariduar area along the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border.
Two of them were injured in a gunfight with the police on April 1st at Bhalukpung town.
After that a strict operation has been conducted and the six militants surrendered along with their arms and ammunition. Following the signing of the Bodo Accord in January 2020, a large number of NDFB militants surrendered while some went on to form the NLFB.
