The state is on alert due to the alarming increase in Corona cases. The number of Omicron positive cases in the state exceeded thousands. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma via Twitter announced that 1167 people tested positive for Covid19. Among them, 517 are from the city of Guwahati alone.
At a press conference on Thursday, the Chief Minister released detailed information on some of the policy rules taken by the state government to deal with the current covid situation.
The vaccination of booster doses will start in the state from January 10. The front-line workers will have to take the precautionary vaccine by February 1. Otherwise, they won’t receive their salary in February.
At present, the state government has 80 lakh vaccines available and ready.
An additional Rs 1500 will be given to the nurse a month for their duty. Asha Karmi will receive Rs. 1,000 during vaccination.
