‘NO’ To Drugs; Assam CM Urges People To Join Hands For A ‘drugs-free’ Assam

News Desk: On the occasion of International Day Against Drug Abuse, the Chief Minister of Assam, Sarbananda Sonowal today urged the people to say ‘NO’ to drugs. He also prompted the people of Assam to take a strong vow to free the society from the menace of drugs.

In a twitter video on Thursday, the Chief Minister of Assam urged the people to come together for a ‘drugs-free’ Assam. He also asked social media users to spread awareness of drug abuse on various social platforms.

In the Twitter video, he stated that

“We must create awareness on this matter among the youngsters in Assam so that no one falls prey to drug abuse and ruin their life eventually. Everyone must work towards maintaining good health. Stay healthy and establish yourselves as ideal citizens of the nation.

On June 26, let us all pledge to create awareness against drug abuse. I am hopeful that our society across Brahmaputra and Barak Valley and the hills will work responsibly and resolutely for the cause. Let us inspire the younger generation to build a healthy and ideal society.”

The International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking is observed every year on June 26, since 1989.
