OIL Offers Job To Kin Of Two Firefighters Killed In Baghjan Inferno

News Desk: As committed by Oil India Limited (OIL), the kin of the two firefighters who were killed on duty during the Baghjan blowout were appointed by OIL on compassionate grounds.

On June 9, Tikheswar Gohain and Durlov Gogoi were killed after the Baghjan Well No-5 caught fire which is located in Tinsukia district.

Bodies of the two firefighters were found in a nearby pond by an NDRF rescue team on June 10.

Purabi Gogoi, wife of Durlov Gogoi, and Pranab Jyoti Gohain, son of Tikheswar Gohain were handed over appointment letters by OIL. The appointment letters were handed over by Rajeev Baruah, CGM (HR) and Prasanta Borkakoty, ED (HR&A) of OIL in the presence of Ashok Das, ED (HR), OIL, Rajib Dehingia, president and Bhaskar Jyoti Borah, General Secretary of Indian Oil Workers’ Union (IOWU).

On June 15, Sushil Chandra Mishra, the CMD of Oil India Limited (OIL) handed over cheques of  ₹ 30 Lakhs each to the families of the two deceased OIL firefighters.
