Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone for the bridge that will connect Sualkuchi and Palasbari across the Brahmaputra.
“PM Narendra Modi will lay the foundation for the Sualkuchi-Palasbari Bridge over the Brahmaputra.” said CM Sarma.
A bridge over the Brahmaputra river will connect Sualkuchi and Palasbari in Assam, and the project is expected to cost around Rs 4,000 crores.
Meanwhile, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has approved the Assam government’s proposed project.
It should be noted that the proposed Sualkuchi-Palasbari bridge is 4.08 kilometres long.
Once completed, the bridge is expected to reduce travel time from Guwahati to nearby districts such as Nalbari, Barpeta, and Baksa.
