School Going Girl Students Will Be Provided with Incentive of Rs. 100 per day

Assam Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in an effort to promote the education of girl child in the state has decided to give every school-going girl child an incentive of Rs. 100 per day for attending classes.

The minister during the scooter distribution ceremony at Sivasagar said that the Rs. 100 per day scheme will be launched by the end of January. However, no other information regarding the financial expenditure of the scheme has been announced.
The Finance Minister of Assam further announced the provision of providing Rs. 1500 and Rs. 2000 to the bank accounts of undergraduate and postgraduate girl students respectively by the end of January month.

The state government is currently distributing scooters to all the girl students who have passed Higher Secondary examination under the state board.
