News Desk: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal paid rich tribute to Satradhikar of Majuli Kamalabari Satra, Dr. Narayan Chandra Goswami while attending a commemoration organized by Majuli district administration at Majuli College auditorium in remembrance of the late vaishnavite scholar.
Speaking on the occasion, Sonowal said that the State Government would take steps for the preservation of the literary, spiritual, and cultural legacy of the late Satradhikar. He stressed on the need for more research on the life and works of the vaishnavite scholar and observed that the late Satradhikar’s ideals would inspire the young generation to move ahead in different fields of their work with determination.
Stating that the Satradhikar was a leading light in the spiritual, cultural, and intellectual life of the State, Chief Minister said the vaishnavite scholar enriched the State with his strong personality and creative works. He also urged the youth to follow his footsteps to take forward the State.
MLA Bimal Bora, vice-chancellor of Majuli Cultural University Dr. Dambarudhar Nath, chairman of DNP Limited Rupam Goswami, Secretary of Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra Samaj Sudarshan Thakur, Satradhikars viz., Dattadev Goswami, Janardan Dev Goswami, Bhabananda Dev Goswami, Sarat Chandra Goswami, Mahesh Goswami, Girindra Mahanta, Nanda Dulal Goswami, Atul Mahanta and several other people were present in the commemoration.
