Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Sunday felicitated Professor Bhaba Prasad Chaliha with the prestigious Srimanta Sankardev Award.
The eminent educationist received the prestigious award for the year 2020 at Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakhetra in Guwahati. However, the award was received by Chaliha’s wife, Nandita Chaliha on his behalf.
Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and minister Naba Kumar Doley were also present during the felicitation ceremony.
The Chief Minister also released a souvenir on the occasion.

“A researcher of rare distinction, Prof. Chaliha has rendered distinguished service in propagating the life, works, and spiritual ideals of the Gurujona. On this auspicious day, I pray for his long, healthy & peaceful life.” the minister further said.
Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also took to Twitter informing about the award ceremony.
