Sunil Sharma, on October 30, took over as the General Manager (GM) of the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) Construction organization.
The 1984 batch Indian Railway Personnel Services (IRPS) officer, Sarma was also a Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. He joined the Indian Railways in 1985 and had a prominent and respected career spanning different ministries and many eminent postings as the APO of Eastern Railway in Dhanbad Division, senior DPO at Mughalsarai division. He also served as the senior DPO at Northern Railways in Delhi, Commissioner (Personnel) at Delhi Development Authority, GM at Railtel, and Executive Director (ERP) in Railway Board and DRM at Agra.
The senior officer is also a renowned Badminton player and a yoga specialist.
Officials of NFR Construction organization are hopeful that the taking over of the GM post by Sunil Sharma will make the department powerful and organized.
