Newly formed All Assam Yoga Mahasangha (AAYM) on Monday organized a press meet at Guwahati Press Club, Ambari.
At the press meet, the committee informed the media about the Three Days Free Mass Yoga Awareness Programme based on the theme, “How Yoga Can Boost our Immunity System in this Pandemic Situation”.
The awareness programme will be held on December 25, 26 and 27 across several districts of Assam including various places in Guwahati city.
The AAYM yoga body has been formed by the ex-students of the Purbanchal Yoga Mahavidyalaya (PYM) and other recognized Universities. The main aim of the committee is to fight for providing placements to all qualified yoga teachers of the state and have already submitted a memorandum to the State Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Pijush Hazarika.
The yoga body has been formed on September 7, 2020, in Purbanchal Yoga Mahavidyalaya (PYM). Its foremost aim is to seek placement in several departments of the Assam Government. It has been estimated that a total of about 300 students pass every year from the PYM, Maligaon.
The AAYM will be organizing the three days Mass Yoga Programme following all the COVID-19 norms and protocols given by the Ministry of AYUSH.
