Valentine’s Day of a woman turned into a nightmare as she was attacked with acid by a miscreant.
The tragic incident took place in Dibrugarh town. The victim has been identified as a 33-year-old woman. The incident took place near Natya Mandir under Amolapatty Police outpost.
She was returning from her workplace Sohum Shoppe, situated in the center of Dibrugarh town. The survivor sustained severe burn and injury due to the attack and is currently undergoing treatment in Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH).
As per sources, the victim was staying with her sister (Ronu Hazarika) in Nijora Path, Amolapatty.
After the initial investigation, Dibrugarh police has apprehended Buddhadev Das in connection with the acid attack. The miscreant Buddhadev is reported to be a married man and a father of two kids. He attacked the victim with acid after she rejected his love proposal a few days ago.
The so-called ‘lover’ attacked her and fled in a bike.
Earlier, ADGP (Law & Order) GP Singh Twitted, “Reference Acid throwing incident of Dibrugarh on February 14th, the FIR named accused has been arrested and follow up lawful action being taken. We shall leave no stone unturned to bring justice to the victim.
