In a tragic incident, a woman died in a landslide in Lakhimpur district along the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border. A massive landslide took a woman’s life while sleeping peacefully in her hut.
The incident took place in the village of Kerekjuli in Narayanpur when a landslide was caused due to heavy rain on a nearby hill.
The mud covered a woman in her sleep inside the hut. The victim has been identified as Chokushri Basumatary.
It needs to be mentioned that her body is not recovered till the time of filing this report as the rescue operation is underway.
