Assam’s Fight Against Covid 19 is Unparalleled: CM Himanta Biswa Sarma

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma while addressing at the Legislative Assembly stated that the state’s fight against Covid 19 is unparalleled compared to any other state.

CM Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday stated that Government of Assam’s fight against Covid 19 can never be compared with any other state of the country.
“Over the past five years, we have been trying hard to reach this position. Our government has also taken the responsibility to help the entire northeastern states in their fight against Covid 19 pandemic.
Apart from meeting our own requirements, Assam has supplied surplus oxygen to Meghalaya, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, and Arunachal Pradesh.
We are proud that our government was able to help the neighboring states and moreover, all these states have shown gratitude towards Assam.” CM Himanta Biswa Sarma stated at the Legislative Assembly.

Taking about Covid vaccines, Himanta Biswa Sarma stated that the Assam government has supplied medicines to other states like Jharkhand and Telangana.
“We have supplied medicines like Remdesivir to Telangana and Jharkhand when they needed it the most. We have also supplied medicines for Black Fungus to Telangana.
People in the Health Department of Assam are working tirelessly to provide proper treatment.” Assam CM added.

“We have already given vaccines to more than 37 lakh people. This massive vaccination drive has been done without any discrimination. We are also hopeful of receiving more vaccines in the month of June-July.” Himanta Biswa Sarma further informed.

The Chief Minister also informed the member of the Assam Legislative Assembly that the farmers of Assam have seen unprecedented progress. Almost 22 lakh families have been benefitted from the Orunodoi and Pension scheme.
