Another minor in the state falls prey to the heinous act of sexual abuse. A 17-year-old autistic girl from the Karimganj district was allegedly raped by a 43-year-old man. The accused, a resident of Badarpur, was already being arrested after the victim’s family lodged a complaint against him.
The culprit has been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, apart from other Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections.
