Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) suspended leader Dipanjali Kakati’s bail has been rejected by Tinsukia session court on Tuesday.
The BJP leader was arrested on Saturday morning for assaulting a police officer.
Last year in November, Assam State BJP suspended the leader after a complaint was registered against her for physically assaulting a police officer on duty inside Kakopathar police station. She fled the scene soon after.
However, CCTV caught her heinous and disgraceful act and a complaint was registered against her.
She has been booked under Section 332 of the IPC – a non-bailable offence.
The suspended Executive member of state BJP committee was also a former member of the Moran Autonomous Council.
