Bir Chilarai Divas- The Birth Anniversary of the Great General of Assam

February 27, 2021 marks the 512th Birth Anniversary of Bir Chilarai.
‘Chilarai Divas’ is celebrated every year to honor the courageous acts of the great Assamese General.

Often regarded as a great General of the Koch Royal Dynasty, Chilarai played a pivotal role in expanding the empire.
The legendary 16th-century general, Bir Chilarai’s great leadership marks the glorious episode in the history of Assam. He was the symbol of bravery and courage of the Assamese nation.

“The Commander-in-Chief of the Konch Army and the great hero of the Konch dynasty, Chilara, is a symbol of bravery and courage of the Assamese nation. Chilarai, a scholar and pious man, is an invaluable inspiration to the entire nation. We pay tribute to him on his birth anniversary.” Assam Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma Twitted
