BJP Youth-Wing leader Pamela Goswami has been arrested by police. She was caught in possession of cocaine in Kolkata’s New Alipore area on Friday.
The West Bengal leader Goswami was with a friend, identified as Prabir Kumar Dey. They were apprehended along with a car with around 100gms of cocaine found in her handbag and other parts of the car.
Pamela, an active leader of BJP
The BJP leader’s arrest sparked controversy in West Bengal politics. Pamela is a very active leader of the BJP’s youth wing. She is also quite active in all social media platforms and often keeps updating BJP’s work on social media.
Pamela joined the BJP in 2019. The then BJP West Bengal State President Dilip Ghosh gave her the membership of the party in a press conference.
Before exploring politics, Pamela was an air hostess. She also worked as a model and even acted in Bengali television.
According to Pamela Goswami, she has been targeted by the opposition and false allegation have been made against her.
A special team of Kolkata police arrested Goswami based on specific information when she was parking her vehicle in New Alipore.
An investigation into the matter is underway. We are trying to find out whether she is involved in any drug racket.
