Amid Covid 19 pandemic again, Assam recorded one more case of black fungus on Saturday. Covid’s 19 patient was detected with mucormycosis at Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH).
This was the third case of black fungus detected in Assam after Guwahati and Silchar.
According to the AMCH sources, “the patient was a 47-year-old male from the Lakhimpur district who was admitted to the AMCH on June 15. He was under advanced treatment. Our doctor team is monitoring his health condition.”
This is the first case of black fungus at the AMCH.
The State government has declared black fungus as a notifiable disease.
