The much-awaited time for the book lovers of Assam is at hand. The Assam Book Fair has started today at the Engineering College of Chandmari, Guwahati. This year the Assam Book Fair is being held in a joint venture between Assam Publishing Council and All Assam Book Publishers and Book Sellers Associations. Two auditoriums of the book fair have been inaugurated after the two renowned journalists and literateur late Homen Bargohni and Laxminandan Bara.
Today CM Himata Biswa Sarma will inaugurate the fair at 3 pm. The inaugural function will also be presided over by the Education Minister and Chairman of Assam Publishing Council Dr. Ranoz Pegu. A total of 150 outlets from the state and from other states and abroad will also be present at this 12-day long book fair.
