BSF apprehends cattle smugglers along the Indo-Bangladesh border

In yet another success in its crusade against smuggling activities, BSF’s 62nd battalion, under the aegis of the Guwahati Frontier of Border Security Force, conducted a specific information-based operation and apprehended 8 Indian cattle smugglers and rescued 25 cattle on July 26, 2021, from the bordering area of Balabhut village, Tufanganj in Coochbehar district of WB.

On July 26, 2021, BSF troops of Border Outpost (BOP) Balabhut and Talai carried out a special operation in the general area of village M/Balabhut close to the Indo-Bangladesh border. At about 2:30 in the morning, the suspected smugglers were seen along with cattle approaching the IBBF. The Ops party, who were concealed, sprung into action and intercepted the cattle smugglers.

The swift action helped the troops to apprehend the criminals who were smuggling cattle heads from India to Bangladesh. The accused criminals have been identified as:
1. Majinoor Haque (17 Yrs), S/o – Akbar Sekh, R/o Village – M/Balabhut, PS -Tufanganj, District – Coochbehar (West Bengal).
2. Saidul Haque, (38 Yrs), S/o Hossain Ali, R/o Char Balabhut, PS Tufanganj, District – Coochbehar (West Bengal).
3. Rabiul Haque (17 Yrs), S/o – Shamsher Ali, R/o Village –Char Balabhut, PS – Tufanganj, District – Coochbehar (West Bengal).
4. Mazibul Haque (20 Yrs), S/o – Rasidul Haque, R/o Village –M/Balabhut, PS – Tufanganj, District – Coochbehar (West Bengal).
5. Ichhab Ali (20 Yrs), S/o Saked Ali, R/o Village – Char Balabhut, PS Tufanganj, District – Coochbehar (West Bengal).
6. Bellal Hossain (30 yrs), S/o Marmuddin, R/o Village – Khudak Char, PS+District – Dhubri (Assam)
7. Sahidul Islam (40 yrs), S/o Gula Pati, R/o Village – Khudak Char, PS+District – Dhubri, (Assam)
8. Sokaer Ali (29 yrs), S/o Sona Miya, PS+District – Dhubri (Assam).

The apprehended Indian cattle smugglers and rescued cattle heads have been handed over to Tufanganj Police Station, Distt – Coochbehar (West Bengal) for further legal action.
