In yet another success in its crusade against smuggling activities, the 192 Bn BSF under the aegis of Guwahati Frontier of Border Security Force (BSF) seized 200 Yaba tablets on 01 April 2021.
The seize was done from the bordering area of village Seoti-II under Police Station Sahebganj, Coochbehar district.
On the intervening night of March 31-April 1, 2021, the BSF troops of Border outpost (BOP) Sabri carried out a special operation in the general area of village Seoti-II, which is close to the Indo-Bangladesh border.
On April 1, 2021, at about 00:15 hrs, the operation party observed suspicious movement of miscreants with a packet moving towards Indo-Bangladesh International Border from the India side.
BSF troops immediately rushed towards them and on seeing the BSF troops the miscreants fled away. The BSF party chased the miscreants but they managed to flee dropping the packet containing 200 nos of Yaba Tablets on the spot which was recovered by the troops.
The seized Yaba tablets have been handed over to Sahebganj Police Station, Coochbehar for further disposal.
Keeping in view of the vulnerability of the border, heightened activities of the smugglers, and anti-national elements on the border, BSF troops are always alert towards the issues of trans-border crimes & illegal infiltration.
BSF is making all-out efforts to prevent the commission of such crimes.
