Troops of BOP Tilak 47 Battalion under Border Security Force (BSF) Guwahati Frontier on March 10 doused the devastating fire. The troops were successful in salvaging the belonging of villagers in the border village, Rajarbari, under district Coochbehar.
On March 10 at about 10: 15 in the morning, the villager of Rajarbari informed Border out-post
Commander of BOP Tilak 47 Bn BSF that a fire broke out in the house of Gouranga Barman.
The BSF troops of BOP Tilak quickly responded and rushed to the spot with all available Jawans at BOP Tilak and fire-fighting equipment. The troops managed to extinguish the fire quacking and salvaged the belonging. They were also successful in preventing the spread, saving nearby huts. There was no untoward incident or loss of lives or property.

The major catastrophe was averted by the swift and professional act of BSF. The local president and member of the village expressed their gratitude towards BSF.
