Chirang Police on March 10 conducted a search operation against illegal weapons. The operation was led by Addl. SP Chirang HQ and was assisted by Runikhata Police Station CI and OC.

Based on specific information, the search operation for illegal weapons started at 6 in the morning inside Chirang Reserve Forest. Recovery of the arms and ammunition by done at the Western side of Village No. 3 Udalguri under Runikhata PS.

Details of the recovered illegal weapons are:
• AK Series Rifle (Factory made) – 01
• AK series Rifle Magazine- 01
• 7.65 mm Pistol (Factory made) – 03
• 7.65 mm Pistol Magazine – 03
• AK series live ammunition – 90 rounds
• 9 mm Live ammunition- 05 rounds
• 7.65 Live ammunition- 03 rounds
Follow-up legal action will be taken accordingly and a search for miscreants is underway.
