On the first day of the auspicious month of ‘Bhado’, Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma visited Athkhelia Namghar in Golaghat district and offered prayers for the wellbeing of all sections of the people of the state. During the visit, the Chief Minister inaugurated an office building at the Namghar premises.
While addressing the devotees at the Namghar, the Chief Minister said that Athkhelia Namghar has been significantly contributing to spiritual awakening in the state and promoting peace-harmony and camaraderie among all sections of the society. He appreciated the role of this historic Namghar in taking forward the teachings and values of Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardeva and Sri Madhavdeva. Chief Minister Dr Sarma further announced Rs 5 crore for the development of the infrastructure of the Namghar.
Agriculture Minister Atul Bora, Health and Family Welfare Minister Keshab Mahanta, Finance Minister Ajanta Neog, MP Kamakhya Prasad Tasa, MLAs Biswajit Phukan and Bhaskar Baruah and a host of other functionaries of the Namghar were present during the visit of the Chief Minister.
Later the Chief Minister also visited Karmashree Nagen Neog Smriti Bhawan at Barua Gaon along with the late Minister’s wife and presently State Finance Minister Ajanta Neog.
