All India Congress Committee General Secretary and In-Charge of Assam Jitendra Singh on Thursday initiated the third phase of AICC’s ‘Congressor 5 Guarantee’ Campaign Yatra from Silchar, in Cachar District.
The Third Phase was flagged off after the successful launch of the Yatra by Pradyut Bordoloi and Gaurav Gogoi. President of All India Mahila Congress Sushmita Dev and Tamal Kanti Banik accompanied the Congress leader.
Tamal Kanti Banik is the candidate for Congress party from Silchar in the upcoming Assam Assembly Election.
The flag-off took place at Congress District Office in Silchar at about 11 AM.
The Yatra proceeded with, Jitendra Singh, Sushmita Dev, and Tamal Kanti Banik, paying their homage at Shahid Minar in Gandhibagh Park.
Shahid Minar is a memorial dedicated to the Martyrs’ who sacrificed their lives, fighting for the protection of the Bengali Language, in 1962.
Congress leader Jitendra Singh and Sushmita Dev then went ahead to interact with local vendors and women in Fatak Bazaar.
A ‘Samvaad’ was also conducted with eminent dignitaries from Silchar, at Modhyshohor Club. The Yatra route ended with Jitendra Singh and Sushmita Dev conducting a Townhall Meeting with the youth at Cachar Club.
During their interactions with women, Jitendra Singh and Sushmita Dev distributed Rs.2000 Guarantee Cards to housewives.
Sri Jitendra Singh also, spoke about Congress’ Online Job Guarantee Programme, calling upon the youth to register, on the Party’s portal- www.congressor5guarantee.in, which has already received, over 80,000 applications for Guaranteed Government Employment. The Party has Guaranteed the generation of, 5 Lakh Government Jobs and 25 Lakh Private Sector Jobs, once it is voted to Office in the State.
The Mahila Congress President Sushmita Dev also took to social media to announce the launch of her ‘Congressor 5 Guarantee’ Yatra;

As the ‘Congressor 5 Guarantee’ Yatra continues, the Senior Leaders of the Party are certain that Assam stands united to learn about re-defining their futures, through the ‘5 Guarantees’ of the Congress Party and bid the BJP’s communal agendas, a befitting farewell from the State.
