Amid the Covid 19 pandemic, the Assam government on Monday has issued an order for Eid celebration across the state.

The order was issued by Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA). The revised and consolidated directive will be applicable for both rural and urban areas and will come into force w.e.f. 5 AM of July 20, 2021, until further order.
The salient features of the order are:
1. There will be total containment in five districts showing a high positivity rate in recent days – Golaghat, Jorhat, Lakhimpur, Sonitpur, and Biswanath.
2. Curfew in the above-mentioned districts will be for round the clock.
3. Authorities have requested all to celebrate Eid from their home. Namaz in Masjid is allowed with only five-person maximum including the religious head.
4. The government said that in order to avoid large congregations, Eid-ul-Adha (Bakrid) prayers shall not be performed in Eidgah or at open places.
