On 24th December, a four-year-old female giraffe named Rongili has passed away in Assam State Zoo, Guwahati. According to a senior official of the facility, this unfortunate incident possibly happened due to accidental suffocation.
She was brought to Assam in 2020 from Mysore Zoo with another male giraffe with permission from Central Zoo Authority (CZA).
