The Directorate of Archeology of Guwahati, Assam on March 1 issued a notification to the Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup (M) District.
In the notification letter, Deepi Rekha Kouli the Director, Directorate of Archeology, Assam has requested for the eviction of the Gauhati Press Club office from the Ambari Archeological Site.

The Director requested strict actions in expelling the organization from the area of the Ambari Archeological site’s official campus. Deepi Rekha Kouli also cited that the Gauhati Press Club office may cause a threat to the sanctity of the heritage zone.
