Congress has committed to Correct BJP’s 3D (Division, Distortion & Deceit) Governance. The last few days have been uncharacteristic of the Assamese identity. Few days have been black days for the democracy of Assam. BJP has resorted to everything that could be categorized as undemocratic. The picture started clearing out, the BJP has gone from bad to worse. It started from blackmailing and threatening, then to coercion and temptation, and finally to stealing EVMs.
The above statement is not our words. This statement is been issued by Salman Khursheed, Former Union Minister, Sushmita Dev, Ex-MP and President AIMC, Prof. Gourav Vallabh, Spokesperson AICC, and Bobbeeta Sharma Chairperson, Media Department APCC.
There are still a number of actions that the people of Assam are looking up to the Election Commission. Here are the details:
• Disqualify Himanta Biswa Sarma from contesting the Assam Assembly elections 2021 as the charges against him are of serious misconduct.
• Deferment of elections on the Tamulpur assembly constituency after Rangja Khungur Basumatary withdrew from contesting
• An FIR be lodged against the BJP, MLA from Patharkandi, Krishnendu Paul and he must be immediately questioned to uncover the truth around the EVMs found in his car
• All EVM related incidences be investigated including Diphu and Karimganj and all due diligence be followed in the third phase of polling
The statement has also stated that Supari syndicate, Coal syndicate, division on religious lines, spewing hatred and economic mismanagement has been the hallmark of BJP’s governance in the last 5 years. BJP’s election campaign and the manner of its campaign are just a continuation of its governance ideology.
The pride of Assam has always been about identity. The BJP has throughout the campaign attempted to destroy tenets of democracy and the Assamese identity. Congress condemns all such moves that threaten the democratic identity of Assam. While the Congress party believes in treating everyone equally and fairly, BJP’s politics is centered on hatred. The Congress party is committed to work with each and every person of Assam to collectively take the state on a development path.
