‘Dry Day’ Announced on Holi Mahotsav in Guwahati

The Officer of Kamrup (M) District on March 25 issued a circulation announcing Dry-Day.
All ‘ON/ ‘OFF’/Club licenses and all the Country Spirit Shops of Kamrup (M) shall remain closed till 4:00 pm on Sunday (28th March).

“In exercising power conferred under section 52(1) of Assam Excise Act, 2000, the undersigned hereby declares that all the retail IMFL ‘ON’/’OFF’/ Club licenses and all the country Spirit shops of Kamrup Metropolitan District will remain closed till 4 P.M. on 28th March 2021 for the preservation of Public peace in the view of the ‘Holi Festival’.” the official notice stated.

This decision has been taken to maintain ‘public peace’ for the celebration of Holi Festival in Guwahati.
Any violation of the above will be viewed seriously,” stated a press release issued by the Deputy Commissioner, Kamrup Metropolitan District.
