Amid the Covid-19 pandemic which had brought the world to its knees, a new Ebola outbreak has been declared by the World Health Organization.
The government health authorities have declared Ebola outbreak in Guinea, a country in West Africa. This official confirmation comes after several cases were identified in the rural community of Gouéké in N’Zerekore prefecture.
As per Guinea’s Health Chief Sakoba Keita, seven positive cases have been confirmed including three deaths.
“New #Ebola outbreak declared in #Guinea by health authorities today. 3 cases have been confirmed in the rural community of Gouéké in N’Zerekore prefecture. This is the first time the disease has been reported since the last outbreak ended in 2016.” Official WHO Twitter page of African region informed.

One of the latest victims in the West African country was a nurse. She started developing symptoms in late January and was buried on February 1. Several people who attended her funeral began to have symptoms of diarrhea, bleeding, vomiting, and fever.
According to health officials, the recent deaths from Ebola hemorrhagic fever occurred in the southern region of N’Zerekore.
