Politicians defecting from their party to join the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been a trend in recent times in many states. As per information provided by various sources, the eight Congress leaders are most likely to take membership in the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Furthermore, Govindas Konthoujam, the president of the State Congress, has also resigned from his position. He was named chief of the Manipur unit in December 2020.
