On Monday, a man was trampled to death by a herd of wild elephants in Morangi, Golaghat district of Assam.
The incident occurred when a herd of elephants was crossing a road near the Morangi Tea Estate. As seen in a video uploaded on YouTube, several people were present at the scene and were causing a hue and cry. Due to this the herd of jumbos grew unsettled and launched an attack at the gathered group of people. The tragic incident occurred when people started running and the unidentified person fell on the ground while fleeing from the attacking elephant. As he fell to the ground, one elephant trampled the victim and thrashed him with his trunk.
It has been reported that the victim died on the spot. As per reports, forest officials are investigating the incident and will inform the same soon.
