Universities are closed due to the Covid epidemic. The students of Guwahati University filed a protest in front of the administrative building demanding the postponement of the first and third semester examinations of Guwahati University.
Hundreds of postgraduate first and third-semester candidates of Guwahati University and colleges under the University on Friday staged a massive protest by closing the main gate of the administrative building of Guwahati University.
Notably, the protesting examinees created an atmosphere by shouting slogans such as, “Accept the demands of the examinees, we will not accept the tyranny of University authorities” etc. The university authorities have scheduled the first and third semester examinations of Guwahati University starting from next Saturday.
The students who participated in the protest said that due to the Covid situation, many applications have been made to the university authorities to postpone the post-graduate first and third semester examinations of Guwahati University by 15-20 days but the university authorities have not considered their request. Due to this, the students have been forced to file a protest.
