In a recent development, Quippo’s discussion with ULFA (I) regarding the release of Ram Kumar and Pranab Gogoi still continues. There is a possibility of a positive outcome between February 24 and 25.
As per reports, Kaushik Phukan is the moderator of this discussion between Quippo and ULFA (I). According to mediator Phukan discussion is now moving in the right direction and there is a possibility of good news soon.
It is to be mentioned that Kaushik Phukan is the son of Revati Phukan, the former mediator between ULFA (I) and Government. She was a close friend of ULFA (I), Commander Paresh Baruah. Revati Phukan went missing since April 2018.
Earlier on Sunday evening ULFA-(I) Commander in Chief Paresh Baruah, in a virtual press meet stated that plans of granting “Saram Hasti” have been halted.
The Chief of Assam’s armed separatist organization further claimed that “Saram Hasti” does not equate to execution.
He also reiterated that few news channels have misinterpreted the same.
The ULFA-(I) Chief further stated that it would take a decision on the fate of the two OIL employees after discussions with the NSCN.
