A team of Assam Police officials on March 17 at about 12:30 PM during checking at Garchuk Chariali recovered cash amounting to Rs. 30,98,600.
The amount was recovered from Mukul Bora of Ahomgaon, Garchuk.
The Assam Police at the same police checkpoint under Garchuk Police Station recovered Rs. 16,25,000 at around 1:30 PM from another person. The amount was recovered from Upen Baraman of Nalbari district.
One more recovery of cash amounting to Rs. Eight lakhs were done at the same Gharchuk police checkpoint.
As per sources from the Assam Police department, necessary action as per ECI guidelines is being initiated.
In another development, Bongaigaon Police lead by SI Prabin Bheruah along with the SST team found and seized cash worth Rs. 1,28,500 at Bongaigaon town area.
