The Gauhati High Court has directed the Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Kamrup (Metro) to identify families who need help in the present COVID-19 pandemic.
Identifying such families with its Para Legal Volunteers, the District Legal Services Authority should inform the Kamrup (Metro) Deputy Commissioner, who shall ensure that such families are given help immediately, in form of food and other day-to-day support.
However, the order was issued by a bench of Chief Justice Sudhanshu Dhulia and Justice Manash Ranjan Pathak while hearing a PIL/32/2021filed by Syeda Mehzebin Rahman, a resident of the city.
