The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) on Thursday conducted a special cleanliness drive.
The Division-2 of GMC conducted the cleanliness drive in the Navagraha Temple area and Navagraha Temple Road starting from the M.C. Road intersection to Navagraha Mandir. The drive started from 9:00 a.m onwards and continued till 1:00 p.m.
It was carried out by a team of 60 field workers, three flying squads in co-operation with officials of APWD and NGOs from wards no. 11 and 12. Executive Engineer, Div-II, GMC, Khadyut Gogoi led the team.
During the cleanliness drive, accumulated natural wastes and habitual wastes from the roadside were removed by the team of workers. GMC’s machinery like excavators, dumpers, auto tippers, etc. was engaged in the operation.
