The number of wards of Guwahati Municipal Corporation increased to 60. Earlier the number of wards was 31. The elections for Guwahati Municipal Corporation are scheduled to be held in February.
It may be recalled that the term of the Guwahati Municipal Corporation Council formed in 2013 ended on July 31, 2018. Guwahati Municipal Corporation has not held elections since then.
