The war on drugs to make Assam Drug Free continues in the city. Guwahati Police on Tuesday evening seized a huge quantity of drugs from the Azara area.
The team seized a total of 1.60 lakh Yaba tablets and recovered Rs 26 lakh from the house of one Safiqul Islam at Mazali in the Dharapur area under Azara Police Station. The market value of the seized drugs is around Rs 2.5 crore.
The accused has been arrested in this connection and the police have seized a four-wheeler (AS01 ET 7998) and a two-wheeler from his possession.
