Azara Police on Monday night arrested 11 people for wandering around the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, Guwahati wearing fake army dresses.
Acting on a tip-off, the police picked up the ‘fake’ army group led by one Dhiman Krishna while they were patrolling around the Guwahati Airport.
The police have recovered one vehicle, five motorcycles and fake ID cards of the army from the group.
The group impersonating army personnel have been carrying out fraudulent activities in various parts of Guwahati.
The police are currently investigating the matter. The involvement of a bigger ring is being suspected.
