Guwahati: In a tragic turn of events, a massive fire broke out near Hajj Bhawan in Jalukbari at around 8 am on Saturday. According to sources, the fire was triggered by a short circuit which further led to the explosion of five cylinders that aggravated the fire.
In addition to the burning down of 30 houses, several buildings were also damaged in the blaze.
Most of the people in these houses were on rent. And there were some people in the nearby godown as well.
At least three fire trucks have arrived at the scene and are trying to put out the fire.
No people have been injured in the blaze so far. Luckily, there were not many tenants in these houses because of the ongoing lockdown in Guwahati.
