News Desk: The classic Guwahati Tea Auction Centre (GTAC) has made a major decision and scheduled their 27th Auction through an online work from home basis for every buyer and broker. The online auction will commence from July 1.
This will the first online auction in the history of Tea auction. All the stakeholders all over India can participate in the auction from their respective homes. This historic decision was taken due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
It can be said that never in the history of tea auctions across the world has a sale been conducted in this manner. The GTAC has yet again set up a perfect example on how to tackle difficulties even during a pandemic.
“In this sale, we expect to create new records and achieve new heights with the help of the commitment of each and every stakeholder of GTAC”, said the Secretary of GTAC, Priyanuz Dutta.
He also added that “The quantity on offer at GTAC sale no. 27 is 4.55 Million Kgs and we expect approximately 180 buyers bidding for the same. It has always been an endeavour of GTAC to provide the best tea selling and buying platform and we diligently work towards that single goal”.
