The Guwahati Yuba Nagarik Samiti (GYNS) has demanded the government to cancel the conduct of offline classes in view of the rising cases of the second wave of COVID-19.
The body also stated that online classes should be conducted for the safety of the students.
GYNS president Kailash Sarma said, “Lakhs of people are being affected daily in the second wave of COVID-19. In several States, night curfew has been imposed and steps are being taken to contain the spread.”
The body also expressed concern that due to the conduct of offline classes, students have been infected with the dreaded virus in Jorhat and different places of the State.
