A woman identified as Dhanamaya Biswakarma was burnt to death at the Kharghuli area of Guwahati on Wednesday morning.
As per reports, the woman aged 87 years, was burnt while she was sitting near the fire in the morning.
It is being reported that the fire also engulfed the house of the woman.
The reason for the fire is not known yet.
Meanwhile, fire tenders rushed to the spot and doused the fire. The Police also reached the spot and an initial investigation is underway.
